Life is funny. Jack had just been in a growth spurt and most of his clothes were getting too short - -when a big box of used clothes arrived froma friend of mine in Burlington, Vermont. The clothes ranged from the same size as the clothes he is outgrowing to clothes that look to my eye like they'll fit when he's four! But the styles are very different than what I had been choosing to dress Jack in until now. Knowing how very fast babies grow up anyway, I was choosing "baby" clothes in preference to the more grownup looks that he would wear soon enough. But it's pretty hard to find "baby" clothes for a boy who weighs almost 20 pounds! These new clothes are mainly "little boy" clothes rather than "baby" clothes -- and between the growth spurt, and the jeans and sweatshirts, my baby boy suddenly looks "all grown up" and very, very tall indeed! Looks like the time is well past to take another bunch of photos to post in his online scrapbook over on ofoto! It's kind of bittersweet. I can hardly wait to see what kind of person out Jack decides to be as he grows up ... but it's also sad that his infancy has gone by in a flash! On the sweet side, Jack has looked very much like his Daddy all his life. This latest growth has left distinct marks of his Mamma on Jacks face. I like that he looks like his handsome Daddy -- but it's ncie to see him acknowledge me a bit, too.
