General UpdateJack's current favorite!Guess How Much I love You by Sam McBratney
Well, well, well. Mamma is indulging in potty-talk again. Jack had another successful experience with the pot today. I was about to change his diaper when I realized I had, again, caught him "at the right moment" -- so, we sat him on the pot and he amply rewarded us! Not only poo, but pee, too! As we discussed it, Dad mentioned that he and Jack had done this successfully several times recently when Jack came to him grunting, so I guess Jack really is on his way! Pretty wierd. The average age for toileting these days is around three years old. It seems to me that TJ and Corey weren't much younger than that. For heaven's sake, the boy doesn't even walk yet and can't bend over to get cleaned! But I guess he doesn't like a poopy diaper. Oh well, I'm not going to complain. On other fronts, Jack's schedule is still all turned around. He seems to be trying to give up his morning nap, which, since we generally have very busy evenings, isn't working well for him. Oh dear. Jack's typical schedule: On days when there are no visitations or meetings, Dad drops us off at home nd takes the car. Those days are so relaxing! We take a walk, feed the ducks and geese, stop by the swings for a while, and then go home, eat dinner, bathe, and then play for a while -- then off to sleep with no interuptions. It confuses Jack terribly! But it rarely happens more than one day in a row. But as you can see, there isn't much respite most days for a boy who skipped his nap. I hope he'll go back to napping in the afternoon, both for his own sweet sake, and because as it stands now, when Jack skips his nap, Dad gets *no* rest and gets nothing done. (Have I mentioned that I think Rod is a saint?) Speaking of walking...(I was, wasn't I? Up there somewhere?) Jack has now taken several idependent steps for each of us, but he seems to have declared that particular parlour trick to have no future in it and hasn't repeated the performance. Crawling is just too efficient, I guess. That, and our deep pile carpets don't serve as much of a discouragement.
