So Where have we been? Well, lets see.. Last Friday I played Santa at Fantasy Forest, Saturday morning Misti met with a friend for a brief shopping jaunt, Saturday afternoon we went to a 3-year old birthday/pony ride party 30 miles West of here, then we came back for a holiday party with other friends 40 miles east of here got home to find that our main event Sunday had been cancelled which meant we could do a stocking stuffer for local childrens charity and proceed on to a Hanukah party with other friends and that was just one weekends worth. Its been crazy like that for months, and every time we think weve got time to blog, something else crops up. Our big celebration this time of year is Yule, which well be celebrating on Saturday. Sunday well be sharing cookies in an old-folks home. Christmas day will be quiet. So, hows Jack? Jack is counting with his fingers quite well, and has mastered the concept of counting to 100. Hes messing about with the concept of addition, realizing that 5+3 and 4+4 both equal 8. He will reliably count beads at least as far as 25. Hes more inclined to read anything that catches his eye these days, and will have a go at reading almost any word he sees. The video I posted a few weeks ago gives you an idea of his story-telling ability, with a bit of insight into where his mind wanders off to in the process of hearing or reading a story. We have joined a home-schooling group for younger children so that he can begin to mix with the kids hell be studying and playing with as time goes on. He has gone back to his worksheets over the past week or two and is accomplishing a great deal more with them now than before. It will be a little while before he has legible writing, but I figure there is plenty of time for that. He is far enough ahead in other fields of endeavour that, if it takes a while for his hands to catch up, Im not worried. So, thats our charming little guy. Hes still sweet and even tempered, very sharp, very bright, and always on the lookout for young ladies to romance. Blessings of the season to you all. Take Care Rod
